Fort Myers Beach releases first draft renderings for community pool replacement
07/06/2026
The Town of Fort Myers Beach shared the first draft conceptual renderings for the future Fort Myers Beach Community Pool, marking an important milestone in the planning and design process following the facility’s destruction by Hurricane Ian.The Town emphasizes that these renderings are preliminary concepts only and are intended to provide the public with an early look at the direction of the project. The designs remain subject to review, refinement, engineering, and approval before construction plans are finalized.
“This is an exciting first step toward bringing this important community asset back to Fort Myers Beach,” said Town Manager Will McKannay. “We want the public to understand these renderings represent an early vision for the future pool. As with any major public project, the design will continue to evolve as we move through the planning process.”
The conceptual renderings are designed to help visualize the future facility while providing a foundation for continued discussion and planning. Community feedback and technical evaluations will continue to play an important role in shaping the final design.
The Fort Myers Beach Community Pool has long served as a gathering place for residents and visitors, offering recreational opportunities, swim instruction, aquatic fitness programs, and youth activities. Community pools are also critical public safety resources, providing children and families with access to life-saving swim lessons and water safety education. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, formal swimming lessons can significantly reduce the risk of drowning among young children. Restoring this amenity remains an important part of the Town’s ongoing recovery and resilience efforts.
The Town encourages residents to view the draft renderings with the understanding that they are not final designs and should not be interpreted as a representation of the completed facility. Additional updates will be shared as the project progresses through future phases of design and development.
