Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) welcomes new Deputy Director of Communications

FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) announces that LaShaun Middlebrooks Collier has been named as the new Deputy Director of Communications.

Collier brings a wealth of experience in strategic communications, marketing, and community engagement to the CRA and will play an instrumental role in enhancing the agency’s communication efforts.

Collier has spent over two decades in the communications field, working with various organizations to develop and implement successful campaigns that raised public awareness and increased stakeholder involvement. Her expertise in crafting compelling narratives and fostering positive relationships between organizations and their target audiences will be a significant asset to the Fort Myers CRA.

In this new position, she will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that effectively convey the CRA’s mission, accomplishments and initiatives to various stakeholders, including the community, local businesses and government partners.

“LaShauns extensive experience and proven track record in strategic communications make them a valuable addition to our team,” said Michele Hylton Terry, executive director of the Fort Myers CRA. “We are confident that LaShaun’s expertise will be an invaluable asset to our agency as we continue to revitalize and improve the quality of life in Fort Myers.”

Collier earned a bachelors degree in communications from the University of South Florida. She was a mentor for Goodwills MicroEnterprise program, certified in Business Education in Floridas Department of Education, DISC/Driving Forces Certified, Strategic Management Performance System (SMPS), Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst, and Certified in Neuroscience for Business from MIT Sloan. She received the Florida Game Changer of the Year Award from the Florida SBDC Network in 2019. She was also named Top 20 generous leaders of 2021 in Southwest Florida.
