FPRA Southwest Florida Chapter Member Caitlyn Anderson Earns Professional Public Relations Accreditation

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Caitlyn Anderson, APR, of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), recently earned her professional public relations accreditation, and received the designation of Accredited in Public Relations (APR).

Anderson joins the more than 4,300 active public relations professionals worldwide who represent an elite group of skilled professionals committed to practicing with high ethical standards, including 38 currently in Southwest Florida.

Anderson graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and forensic studies. During her college tenure, she held internships at the Lee County Emergency Operations Center and the Public Information Office at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. After graduation, she started her career as a public information officer for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, where she was responsible for disseminating agency updates to the public and media. After four years, she was promoted to manager within the office. In 2022, Anderson accepted a new role at Pushing the Envelope, Inc., a strategic marketing and communication firm in Fort Myers. She is now the firm’s communication specialist focusing on public relations efforts for various clients. 

To earn public relations accreditation, candidates must pass an oral presentation and rigorous written examination administered by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), which is an alliance of eight national and statewide professional associations dedicated to furthering the field of public relations and the development of public relations professionals. FPRA is a member of the UAB.
