GCM hires John Gannon as project manager

GCM Contracting Solutions announced the appointment of John Gannon as its project manager for the state-of-the-art dry stack storage boat facility featuring GCM’s ASAR technology at Isles of Capri Marina in Naples.

As project manager, Gannon will play a significant role in managing the day-to-day operations of the marina project from its design phase to the finished product.

The boat facility has a 55,000 square-foot footprint with three levels, totaling 165,000 square feet, storing up to 50 foot long boats. It will have automated storage using ASAR technology and upgraded exterior finishes to complement the island’s architecture.

GCM is currently in the design phase for a marina project for Isles of Capri, scheduled to start in the third quarter of 2024. The marina design and construction are slated to take 24 months.

“As we expand our scope of projects with cutting-edge, luxury marina developments using our ASAR technology, we are extremely excited to have a highly accomplished, veteran project manager who is well-versed in various construction methodologies. His ability to lead skilled construction teams to perform at their highest level is exactly what we need as we build our growth strategy for GCM Contracting Solutions,” said Max Brown, vice president of GCM Contracting Solutions.

Gannon brings over 30 years of experience in design-build, serving as senior project manager with public and private commercial construction projects ranging from $12 million to $100 million. His career highlights include Dallas Cowboys Stadium, the Miami Performing Arts Center, and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Gannon’s strong ability to train, mentor, and coach productive teams is a hallmark of his success in completing projects on time and within budget. He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor of science in building construction and holds several construction certifications.

“I am thrilled to lead the Isles of Capri Marina project, utilizing my experience to build a state-of-the-art boat storage facility. Implementing GCM’s ASAR technology will prove to be a valuable solution for the facility,” said John Gannon.
