Goodwill hosts a Lehigh Community Appreciation Day
Lehigh Acres – Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida (SWFL) welcomes shoppers to check out the newly remodeled Goodwill at 2825 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres with a Community Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 23rd. Store opens at 8 a.m. with 50% off all donated and 25% off new mattresses. The day of fun is open to all ages, with an outdoor DJ from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., food trucks, giveaways, Halloween candy, face painting and more. First 100 shoppers receive a $10 Goodwill gift card (one per family).
Hodges University is hosting an Open House during the event at the onsite Community Resource Center (CRC) to showcase new classes available in Lehigh to help people overcome barriers and go farther. Goodwill’s CRCs offer employment services, free computer skills training and other services to help individuals overcome barriers to independence. Some of the planned offerings include English as a Second Language (ESL), Pathways to Home Ownership, Direct Support Professionals, plus various workshops and classes.

Goodwill Southwest Florida is a non-profit organization that utilizes the selling of donated goods to employ more than 900 individuals in Southwest Florida. Through community philanthropy, grants and sponsorships, they are able to support nearly 25,000 individuals a year as they work towards independence through Goodwill’s disability services, employment training and support, housing, and small business development.
