Goodwill Offering Auto Mechanic Certification Class stating September 22nd

Ft. Myers, FL – Ready to jump start your career as an auto mechanic? For those already working in the industry, but want to earn their Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) GI certification, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida (SWFL) is offering a 4-week program focused on the modules within the ASE-G1 test.

Classes are held at Hodges University in Fort Myers from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. from September 22 – October 9, 2021. Classes are also available virtually via Webex.

Classes cover everything from steering and transmission, to brakes and tires. Participants will learn the why-how of basic automotive techniques, and test to become ASE certified. This certification can help improve opportunity within the industry, or help those wanting to start their own business. The auto industry is expected to grow by 30% through 2022. It’s in the top 20 jobs for high earnings, with the average pay for service technicians starting at $15/hour and can quickly grow.

Pam Oakes, a 4th generation mechanic and previous owner of Pam’s Motor City, is the class instructor. Pam is an international trainer, master tech and automotive sensor-apps engineer. Pam’s Motor City was voted “Best Auto Repair Center in Lee County” 16 times.
