Grey Oaks Country Club completes Pine Course renovation and reopens

Grey Oaks Country Club, the premier private club for active, healthy, resort-style living in Southwest Florida, has reopened its Pine Course, following a successful renovation project led by Andrew Green, renowned golf course restoration specialist and industry-leading golf architect.

“A big goal of our work on the Pine Course was to protect the golf experience, one that members treasured. I hope members can play the course every day and experience something different,” Green said. “We have provided avenues of play for every level of golfer. There are multiple ways to attack each golf hole. I hope members embrace and connect with the new course.”
The Pine Course renovation added several new features with fresh and thoughtful options. It now offers enhanced aesthetics with strategic bunker placement, challenging green surrounds and larger greens for a variety of pin placements. The result is a premier golf experience for members.

“This new course is going to challenge players and require some strategy on where they want to be when approaching the green,” said Marty DeAngelo, senior director of golf at Grey Oaks. “The course design reflects the latest trends to give a lot more open space around the green, and that means golfers will have a lot of variety to approach the shot.”

Grey Oaks selected Andrew Green to lead the Pine Course renovation due to his extensive experience and credentials, which includes the recent restoration of Oak Hill Country Club’s East Course, home of the 2023 PGA Championship. Currently, Andrew is working on restoration plans for Interlachen Country Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia, home of the TOUR Championship. Named “one of the most consequential designers in the business” by Golf Digest, many consider Green the next heir apparent in golf course architecture design. In 2022, Grey Oaks completed enhancements to its short game area, also designed by Green, to provide more practice simulation for shot-making, instruction and simultaneous practice use, including Inrange technology.

Grey Oaks Country Club serves the Grey Oaks and Estuary communities, members from Moorings Park at Grey Oaks and non-resident club members. It has been designated a Platinum Club® by Club Leaders Forum, Distinguished Club by BoardRoom magazine, Florida Golf Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Association, and a Top 100 Golf Community by Travel + Leisure magazine. Amenities include three championship golf courses, a 30,000-square-foot state-of-the-art wellness center, two clubhouses, tennis, pickleball, bocce and a resort-style pool.
