Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club named Humanitarian Community Association of the Year

Heritage Palms - Community Association of the Year Award

FORT MYERS, Fla. – Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club has been honored as the 2020 Richard D. DeBoest, Sr. Humanitarian Community Association of the Year by the South Gulf Coast Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

The annual award recognizes community associations in Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties that excel in all facets of their operations, most notably associations that demonstrate service to the community outside of their own association boundaries.

In addition to low-maintenance homes and an abundance of lifestyle amenities, Heritage Palms also offers a robust community outreach program. Heritage Palms boasts 125 volunteer residents engaged in various committees, and the community raises awareness and funds for multiple nonprofit organizations in Southwest Florida, including Harry Chapin Food Bank. New-resident outreach, communications and special events are also important factors in earning the humanitarian award.

“Lifestyle and location take center stage at Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club and it’s an honor to be recognized for our commitment to our residents and greater community,” said Gary Piotrowski, general manager and chief operating officer. “In addition to the award-winning amenities and activities we offer, I believe our greatest strength is the people who reside in as well as those who serve this community. There’s great engagement within our board, our staff and residents to make Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club the best place to live, work and play in Lee County, and I’m honored to share this award with them.”

A gated and bundled golf and country club, Heritage Palms caters to residents’ needs and lifestyles. The community features a newly renovated clubhouse with multiple dining options overlooking a 38-acre lake and 18th green of the Sabal course. In addition to two 18-hole golf courses designed by Azinger & Lewis, activities offered include tennis, pickleball, bocce ball, a fitness and activity center, and a resort-style pool and spa area with a tiki bar and grill. Additionally, there are seven community pools within Heritage Palms. Inside the clubhouse, members enjoy book clubs, card games, bible studies, dancing and more. The community is committed to environmentally sound practices, including the use of LED lights in the clubhouse and streetlights, energy-saving blinds and extensive recycling practices, as well as an eco-friendly golf cart charging system.

Located off Six Mile Cypress Parkway between Colonial Boulevard and Daniels Parkway, Heritage Palms Golf & Country Club is convenient to area services, banks, restaurants and nature centers.
