Housing Alliance Receives grant to support its Housing Navigator Program
The Housing Alliance, a non-profit organization that provides information, education and advocacy for accessing and developing attainable housing solutions in Collier County, announced its affiliate HELP (Housing Education Lending Program) received a grant of $10,000 from the United Way of Collier and the Keys to support its Housing Navigator Program. With this funding HELP will be able to expand its home buyer education and pre-purchase counseling services to more families seeking homeownership or affordable rentals.
The Housing Navigator program simplifies the homebuying process by providing accessible, practical resources for home buyer education and pre-purchase counseling to individuals and couples to increase their knowledge and skills in money management. Through the program, HUD-certified, bilingual financial counselors offer individual support to make the homebuying process easier by connecting participants to resources to secure affordable rental housing, tools to save for home ownership, and steps to qualify for a mortgage.
The Housing Alliance leverages its community relationships and experience working with local lenders, non-profits and the County offering specialized programs for low-to-moderate income households. The program is financed in part by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Collier County Community and Human Services Division.
“We are truly grateful for the continued support of United Way of Collier and the Keys (UWCK), serving as a partner agency since 2020,” said Michael Puchalla CEO of The Housing Alliance and Executive Director of HELP. “Low-to-moderate income households in our community continue to face significant financial concerns and cost-burden and need a place to turn for guidance and support. We look forward to continuing our partnership with UWCK and growing the impact on households in our community.”
