J.R. Evans Engineering promotes tenured director of land

J.R. Evans Engineering is pleased to announce the promotion of their esteemed Director of Land, following her identification of industry-related opportunities and project ownership. Now, as Vice President of Land Development Engineering (VP-LDE), Kristina Johnson will manage teams as they create plans for land development projects across the state of Florida.

Johnson joined the civil engineering firm five years ago, organizing a group of highly talented individuals in a structured environment, while maintaining the company’s culture of providing unparalleled solutions to multifaceted, complex tasks. Her scope of work while managing the land development engineering department included preliminary project planning, due diligence reports, master planning, detailed cost estimation, layout of utility and stormwater management systems, and permitting through required jurisdictional agencies.

Johnson’s 14-plus-year portfolio ranges from 300-plus-unit apartment complexes and a 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to several commercial developments and golf course remediations. She has also worked extensively on 180-plus-acre residential developments and public-sector utility projects. Oftentimes, Johnson is called on to testify as an expert witness across Florida.

Johnson is a graduate of Michigan State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, which she earned while on the student-run board of Engineers Without Borders. She holds her Professional Engineer certificate in the state of Florida and is an Accredited Professional of the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Johnson is co-chair of the Women’s Leadership Initiative of the Urban Land Institute and in local organizations like the North Naples Community Emergency Response Team.

“Kristina embodies the type of team member on whom we focus our professional development efforts,” said Joshua Evans, P.E., Principal and President. “Everything she does, both in and out of the office, is a constant reminder of the civil engineering tone we should always set in Southwest Florida and within our company. Kristina truly deserves this level of recognition, and we couldn’t be prouder to offer it.”
