JKMilne Asset Management Announces Interns in the Asheville office

FORT MYERS, Fla. (July 13, 2020) — JKMilne Asset Management has brought on two interns to work over the summer before universities start back up again. In the midst of the Coronavirus and the obvious economic impact it had, many young students lost their internships and ability to gain real, on-the-job experience before heading back to school.

Tyler Klein

JKMilne would like to officially introduce Tyler Klein and Miles Gardner as their 2020 summer interns. Tyler is from Pennsylvania and currently attends John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a finance major with a minor in economics from the Boler College of Business with a tentative graduation date of May 2022. “I am looking forward to getting a chance to work at an institutional investment management company and learning about the investment-grade fixed-income industry,” stated Klein.

Throughout his internship, Tyler will work on building a new website, research third-party ESG scoring and work with the portfolio managers to create and design an interactive spreadsheet on corporate bond liquidity for effective work in liquidating bonds.

Miles Gardner

Miles is from North Carolina and a recent high school graduate. In the fall, Miles will attend the University of Chicago with plans to study economics. “Interning at JKMilne is a wonderful and exciting opportunity.  I’m particularly looking forward to learning as much as possible about the bond market, and more generally, the finance industry,” stated Gardner. “Learning the intricacies of the fixed-income market will be both interesting and challenging, but I am excited to take on the challenge.”

Throughout his internship experience, Miles will focus on liquidity research and become more familiar with the Bloomberg Terminal. Additionally, he will concentrate on ESG and sustainable investing—two areas of personal interest. He is hopeful that the knowledge he gains will benefit him as he starts his college experience.

“We are excited to offer invaluable experiences to these new interns,” said CEO John Milne. “I feel we have an obligation to the future financial world to mentor the next generation and prepare them for what they can expect when they get into the workplace.” JKMilne has always had a vested interest in offering internships and providing opportunities for growth and knowledge in the community.
