Kerry Keith elected chair of Continuing Florida Aviation System Planning Process Statewide Steering Committee

Kerry Keith, senior director of development and facilities for the Naples Airport Authority, has been elected chair of the Continuing Florida Aviation System Planning Process Statewide Steering Committee. Keith has served as chair of CFASPP’s Southwest Region since 2016 and will continue in that role.

CFASPP was created by the Federal Aviation Administration and the Florida Department of Transportation in order to maintain a safe and viable aviation environment. The committee monitors the aviation environment in Florida and determines development requirements to best meet projected aviation demands.

Keith also serves as secretary/treasurer of the Florida Airports Council. He previously served as chair of the FAC Environmental Committee.

In 2012, Keith joined the Naples Airport Authority and is responsible for all planning, construction and renovation activities at the Naples Airport. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Davidson College in North Carolina and has extensive airport construction, regulation compliance, project management and supervisory experience.

Naples Airport is ideally located within minutes of downtown Naples, the Gulf of Mexico and I-75, connecting people to the Paradise Coast through an exceptional airport experience. The airport serviced 104,479 annual operations in the last fiscal year, while being an engaged, responsive partner to the community. Home to flight schools, air charter operators, car rental agencies, and corporate aviation and non-aviation businesses, the airport is also a central location for public services, including fire/rescue services, mosquito control, the Collier County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit and other community services.

All funds used for the airport’s operation, maintenance and improvements are generated from activities at the airport or federal and state grants from aviation-related user fees. The airport receives no local tax dollars. The Florida Department of Transportation values the airport’s annual economic impact to the community at more than $440 million.
