Laird A. Lile appointed to Judicial Management Council workgroup

Laird A. Lile, a board-certified wills, trusts and estates attorney in Naples, has been appointed to serve as the only practicing attorney on the Florida Supreme Court Florida Courts Technology Commission’s Workgroup on Assessing Legal Financial Obligations.

The workgroup was established as a result of a report to the Florida Supreme Court by the Judicial Management Council’s Workgroup on Court Costs and Fines.

Lile was appointed to both the Florida Courts Technology Commission and the Judicial Management Council by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court.

The Workgroup on Assessing Legal Financial Obligations has been tasked by Chief Justice Charles Canady to work with the state’s elected Clerks of Court to develop an electronic system to assist in the assessment of legal financial obligations.

Other members of the workgroup include judges, trial court administrators, clerks, chief technology officers, and clerk techs.

Lile is a past state chair and a Fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is one of two governors elected to the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, representing the 20th Judicial Circuit, which includes Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. Lile’s eighth term concludes in June 2022.

Lile currently is serving a second term on the Florida Supreme Court’s Judicial Management Council and a third term on the Florida Courts Technology Commission. He is past chair of the Second District Court of Appeal Nominating Commission.

Recently recognized for the third consecutive year as a Top 10 Florida Super Lawyer, Lile has been named three times as one of Florida Trend’s 500 Most Influential Business Leaders in Florida. In June 2018, Lile was selected by Chief Judge McHugh to serve as Clerk of Court ad Interim for Collier County.

Lile is past chair of the Bar’s 11,200-member Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section. He was inducted into Florida Trend’s Legal Elite Hall of Fame in 2010 and recently was named to Best Lawyers in America for the 26th consecutive year.
