Laird A. Lile appointed to national committees with The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

NAPLES, Fla. (Jan. 25, 2021) – Laird A. Lile, a board-certified wills, trusts and estates attorney in Naples, has been appointed by the president of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel to three committees that advise on policy initiatives for the legal profession.

Lile has been appointed to: – The Artificial Intelligence Task Force, which is exploring artificial intelligence tools and their impact on estate planning and estate and trust administration, the future impact of AI on training of new attorneys, and the possible enhanced quality of life that may result from efficiencies gained through the use of these new tools; – The Charitable Planning and Exempt Organizations Committee, which provides guidance on various aspects of charitable planning and charitable giving including charitable deductions, private foundations, excise taxes, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Gift Annuities, individual Donor-Advised Funds, and charitable pledges; and – The Practice Committee, which addresses law practice management issues for trust and estate attorneys, including practical and ethical issues.

Lile is a past state chair and a Fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is one of two governors elected to the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, representing the 20th Judicial Circuit, which includes Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties. Lile’s eighth term concludes in June 2022.

Lile currently is serving a second term on the Florida Supreme Court’s Judicial Management Council and a third term on the Florida Courts Technology Commission. He is past chair of the Second District Court of Appeal Nominating Commission.

Recently recognized for the third consecutive year as a Top 10 Florida Super Lawyer, Lile has been named three times as one of Florida Trend’s 500 Most Influential Business Leaders in Florida. In June 2018, Lile was selected by Chief Judge McHugh to serve as Clerk of Court ad Interim for Collier County.
Lile is past chair of the Bar’s 10,800-member Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section. He was inducted into Florida Trend’s Legal Elite Hall of Fame in 2010 and recently was named to Best Lawyers in America for the 26th consecutive year.
