Leadership NEXT to explore Edison and Ford Winter Estates during Feb. 9 program

Leadership NEXT, a monthly program for advancing business professionals, will host a networking program from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at the historic Edison and Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers.

Edison and Ford Winter Estates is the internationally known winter home site of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, and dates back to 1885 when Edison first purchased the property. Today, the mission of Edison and Ford Winter Estates is to educate the public and inspire an inventive spirit by interpreting and preserving the innovations, legacies, artifacts, gardens, homes, laboratory, and other structures of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford, emphasizing Florida history, science, horticulture and the arts.

During the Leadership NEXT program, Mike Cosden, executive vice president of Edison and Ford Winter Estates, will offer business professionals a look at how the Estates is run and its strategic plans for the future. Cosden will share insights into how the organization remains relevant, generates revenue and benefits from sponsorships and memberships, as well as how local businesses can utilize the grounds. Guests will have an opportunity to network after the program.

Attendees of Leadership NEXT represent a variety of businesses and industries throughout Southwest Florida. Sessions take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month and offer opportunities to develop new knowledge and skills, establish working relationships with colleagues and engage in valuable programs and discussions to further enhance their careers. Leadership NEXT’s annual sponsor is the Florida Gulf Coast University Alumni Association.

The program will be held at the outdoor River Pavilion at Edison and Ford Winter Estates, located at 2350 McGregor Blvd. in Fort Myers. The February Leadership NEXT program is free to attend, however, registration is required as capacity is limited to 40 participants. Attendees can register in advance at FortMyers.org.
