Lessig Earns Preceptor Certification

(Fort Myers, FL – February 2, 2021) – Matthew Lessig, Administrator of The Lodge at Cypress Cove, has earned his Preceptor Certification.

The approval of Lessig as an approved Florida Certified Preceptor provides the 64-private suite nursing home on the 48-acre Life Plan community of Cypress Cove the opportunity to begin a prestigious AIT internship (administrator in training) program at skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility.

An AIT program, run through the Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators (BNHA), provides college or university students full-time training under the direct supervision of a Certified Preceptor (an experienced director who guides, tutors, and provides direction aimed at assisting one’s operational experience in a senior care and living services environment).

The Lodge at Cypress Cove, says Lessig, “provides an excellent opportunity for an individual schooling in healthcare administration to learn at one of Southwest Florida’s premier skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities.” If the BNHA approves all required reports and documented hours at the conclusion of training, the AIT is allowed to sit for the nursing home administrator licensure exam.

Lessig, a graduate from Florida Gulf Coast University, joined the Cypress Cove team as Administrator of The Lodge in April last year following a seven-year administrative healthcare career at Lee Health.
