McCarthy goes from star athlete to teacher and successful career with SVN Commercial Partners
Hunter McCarthy was a two-sport athlete at Charlotte High School. He owned baseball records at Ave Maria University. He used YouTube to engage students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, he is a successful Commercial Real Estate Advisor for SVN Commercial Partners.
McCarthy did not follow the typical route to his current position of providing services for all sectors of commercial real estate. Prior to joining SVN Commercial Partners in 2020, he was a physical education teacher at Kingsway Elementary for seven years and is currently teaching at Deep Creek Elementary School. His athletic background prepared him to create and implement a PE curriculum for kindergarten to fifth-grade students, as well as plan, organize and execute successful school-wide events.
He built a background in athletics at Charlotte High School as a varsity starter on both the football and baseball teams. During his senior year, he was named the defensive most valuable player during the All-Area all-star game.
He continued playing baseball at Ave Maria University, setting career and single season home run records for the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics school. Those records stood until recently.
Teaching came calling and McCarthy loves working with the kids. “You see kids of different levels, kids advanced for their age or far behind. Being able to work with these kids on an individual basis and help boost their confidence is great”.
At home, McCarthy noticed the mounting success his wife Margeaux was having as a commercial real estate advisor at SVN Commercial Partners. It piqued his interest, especially in land use cases, and soon he earned his Florida Real Estate License and began working with clients. The McCarthy team of Hunter and Margeaux are rolling with $5.1 million in transactions of land sales and $318,000 in leases so far in the of 2023.
“All of our deals are kind of intertwined and we work really well together,” Hunter McCarthy said about his wife. He and Margeaux, who also teaches dance twice a week, have two young girls.”
