Naples Area Board of REALTORS® Recognized by National Association for Outstanding Committee Achievements

NAPLES, FL  – Naples Area Board of REALTORS® (NABOR®) is proud to announce that two of its member committee groups received top awards from the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR®) during NAR®’s annual conference and expo held in San Diego on November 11, 2021. NABOR®’s Global Business Committee was awarded the 2021 Platinum Global Achievement Program Award and NABOR®’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) was named Large Network of the Year.

“Out of the hundreds of contenders that were nominated in both areas, our Global and YPN committees stood out on top this year,” said NABOR® Past President Corey McCloskey. “As an active REALTOR® member, I have benefitted from their quality programs and networking events for many years. But when national recognition is given – especially during a year where residual pandemic challenges kept resurfacing – I am reminded of the value of NABOR® for providing not only a robust committee community, but also for the impact it has on so many homeowners and charities within the community.”

GLOBAL BUSINESS COMMITTEE EARNS PLATINUM

For the past six years, NABOR®’s Global Business Committee has received Gold or Platinum Awards from NAR® for its high levels of achievement in five categories: Business Plan, Marketing and Communication, Events/Education, Outreach, and Benchmarking. The Platinum Global Achievement Program Award places NABOR®’s Global Business Committee in the top 8 percent of Global Councils nationwide.

As demand for homes in Naples from domestic buyers skyrocketed during the third quarter of 2020, the Global Business Committee rolled up its sleeves and developed a new plan that included more diverse programs and innovative resources to further prepare NABOR® members for an anticipated surge in interest from an eager global real estate market. Examples of this committee’s 2021 achievements include:

  • Developed a series of testimonial videos to illustrate the committee’s value and intent to provide members with regular communications and events on international market trends and strategies for working with foreign allies including buyers and sellers in a global market.
  • Assisted in the development of the “All About Naples” video series that highlight the cultural and lifestyle features of key destination points around Naples.
  • Translated NABOR®’s monthly Market Reports into Spanish and distributed them to members and Latin media.
  • Strengthened its relationships with Canadian, German, Central and South American real estate groups to include co-hosting networking events and educational workshops.
  • Built and promoted a resource-heavy web and social media presence with a dedicated webpage that houses many useful items like links to allied services for global real estate professionals, currency calculators, and legal documents in several languages.

Started in 2009, the NABOR® Global Business Committee works to connect members with resources that help them serve clients from around the globe and build member awareness of the global and multicultural business opportunities in the local markets. NABOR®’s Global Business Council is part of a consortium of 110 Global Councils that work directly with NAR® to develop globally themed education, programming, and networking for members. This includes hosting CIPS courses and social events that build partnerships with other globally minded businesses, mortgage brokers, attorneys, and other relevant local entities.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS NETWORK: AN INVITATION TO A NEW VISION OF LEADERSHIP

As the 2021 Large Association Network of the Year, NABOR®’s Young Professionals Network embodies all the tenets of an outstanding network (as defined by NAR) as it successfully involves, recruits, and represents young professionals in the real estate industry and is living up to the goals and mission of NAR®’s Young Professionals Network.

Similar to NABOR®’s Global Business Committee, the Young Professionals Network re-envisioned and re-focused its outreach engagement efforts in 2021. “In addition to changing our recruitment process to an interview approach to make membership more exclusive and volunteers more accountable, we added a new feature in our monthly meetings called ‘Knowledge is Power’ where a volunteer provides a 5- to 10-minute informational presentation,” said YPN Chairperson Mariana Birmingham. “These sessions highlight the breadth of skills within our volunteer network and resulted in increased meeting participation.”

The network also enhanced its outreach in 2021 with clever promotional videos and has become a potent source for talent and volunteers within NABOR®. But building professional connections took center stage in 2021 as the network hosted a variety of events to appeal to different member preferences. As a result, YPN hosted more events in 2021 than in any past year. New events included:

  • Wake Up YPN coffee meetups where members met for early morning networking to energize each other
  • Beach volleyball games that inspired friendly competition and play and ended with a peaceful shared sunset

Other standout events by YPN in 2021 included a waterways cleanup, a Mardi Gras Celebration and Oktoberfest Sunset Cruise, in collaboration with the Global Business Committee, and a Karaoke Charity Challenge that raised over $2,700 for Valerie’s House. The success of the karaoke event convinced the network to make it a signature annual event.
