Naples Center for Functional Medicine hires Rona Tagalog as family nurse practitioner

Naples Center for Functional Medicine has added board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner Rona Tagalog, ARNP, to its team of medical professionals.

In this role, Tagalog provides primary health care services to patients of all ages while adhering to principles of functional medicine, which is a science centered on prevention and holistic treatments rather than focusing on a single ailment. Naples Center for Functional Medicine utilizes modern modalities like functional testing, supplements, IV therapies, nutritional analysis, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, genetic testing and evidence-based solutions to improve patient health.

“Rona has more than 15 years of experience in the medical field, recently shifting her professional focus to functional medicine after personally seeing the benefits of it in her own health and wellbeing,” said Dr. Carol L. Roberts, medical director at Naples Center for Functional Medicine. “She brings that experience into the exam room, knowing a holistic approach to medical care offers patients the best opportunity to optimize their overall health and wellness.”

Prior to joining Naples Center for Functional Medicine, Tagalog was a family nurse practitioner for a medical center in Central Florida focused on care for the body, mind and spirit of patients. She also has experience as a registered nurse at a women’s hospital in Orlando and as a music teacher in Arizona.

Tagalog earned a master’s degree in family practice nursing from the University of South Florida after completing an associate degree in nursing science from Northland Pioneer College and a bachelor’s degree in music teacher education from Mountain View College. Tagalog has completed functional medicine certification through Functional Medicine University and continues to expand her functional wellness training through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and Institute for Functional Medicine.
