National Vaccine Mandates for Business and Federal Workers

Last night, President Biden announced a COVID-19 action plan that includes vaccine mandates for businesses and federal workers, among other announcements. Impactful to the hospitality industry and other businesses, Biden has instructed the U.S. Department of Labor to release an emergency rule that requires all businesses with 100 or more employees to require full vaccination of their employees or that they produce weekly negative COVID tests. Employers will also be required to provide paid time off of a reasonable amount to ensure workers can get vaccinated and recovery from any side effects. In his announcement, President Biden announced that this would also be mandated for all federal workers and would impact approximately 80 million workers in the private sector.
