FORT MYERS, Fla.  – Luminary Hotel & Co. is pleased to announce the promotion of Brent Gauthier to the position of Executive Chef at the hotel’s signature restaurant, The Silver King Ocean Brasserie. Overseeing the hotel’s culinary team as interim Executive Chef for the past month, Gauthier started his journey at Luminary in January 2021 as Senior Sous Chef and has since assisted in all aspects of the hotel’s Food & Beverage department.

“From Day One, Chef Brent proved to be a great culinarian, as well as a splendid leader, quickly gaining the trust and respect of the entire team who overwhelmingly supported him for the Executive Chef position,” said Bob Megazzini, General Manager of Luminary Hotel & Co. “Brent has worked tirelessly with the staff and will continue to excel in his role due to his management style which blends a collaborative and creative approach with a strong business acumen.”

With more than 10 years of high-volume experience in American Cuisine, Gauthier joins Luminary from Gaylord National Harbor in Maryland, Virginia, where he worked as a Senior Sous Chef and was responsible for leading a team, monthly inventory, and lowering labor and food costs. Prior to that, Gauthier was Executive Chef at Le Meriden Arlington, Virginia. Gauthier attended Johnson & Wales for his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts.

The Silver King Ocean Brasserie is located inside the Luminary Hotel & Co. and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Full menus and other information can be found online. The “Silver King” is the nickname of the tarpon, the glimmering gamefish which have long drawn avid anglers to the waters of Fort Myers. Borrowing this noble name, the hotel’s signature restaurant showcases the quality of fresh seafood through clean, simple preparations using classic technique with a modern palate.
