Pelican Isle Yacht Club – Again Awarded Platinum Club of America Status – #7 Yacht Club in USA

October 2020 – Pelican Isle Yacht Club is proud to announce that the Club has been selected again as a Platinum Club of America! Platinum Club recognition is the most respected award in the Private Club industry with only the top 5% of Private Clubs receiving Platinum Status. Pelican Isle Yacht Club was awarded 7th place nationally in the Yacht Club Category 2021-2022.

It is an honor to have once again been voted the #7 Yacht Club in America by the Platinum Clubs of America. PIYC first appeared on the Platinum Clubs list at #14 in 2014, then as #10 in 2016, and rose to #7 in 2019 following a comprehensive renovation in 2018. Further recognized by the Platinum Club Organization as one of the top 50 Yacht Clubs in the World in 2020, these accolades reflect the highest quality of Member Experience as well as the fullest expression of the seven selection criteria. PIYC is proud of this status and what it means to ranked amongst the best Private Clubs, but above all, we are thankful for a friendly Membership, a magnificent waterfront location, and a caring and thoughtful staff.

Initiated in 1997, the Platinum Clubs of America vote takes place every two years and is conducted through a nationwide vote of 4,100 Club Managers and Presidents or Owners of the finest Private Clubs in the Nation, which makes Platinum recognition the most respected acknowledgment in the industry.

Voters are requested to select 300 Clubs in five categories; Golf Clubs, Country Clubs, City Clubs, Athletic Club and Yacht Clubs. The Clubs are ranked by score, highest to lowest. 150 Country Clubs, 50 Golf Clubs, 50 City Clubs, 30 Yacht Clubs and 20 Athletic Clubs are acknowledged with Platinum status until the next vote in September 2022.

There are seven criteria for a Club to be considered for selection as a Platinum Club of America by Club Leaders Forum and include the following:

  • CALIBER OF STAFF AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICE LEVELS
  • QUALITY AND COMMITMENT OF MEMBERSHIP
  • GOVERNANCE AND PRUDENT FISCAL MANAGEMENT
  • ADAPTING TO CHANGING TIMES
  • OVERALL EXPERIENCE
