Pelican Isle Yacht Club awarded Platinum Club of the World status

Pelican Isle Yacht Club announced the club has been selected again as a Platinum Club of the World. Platinum Club recognition is the most prestigious award in the private club industry. Pelican Isle Yacht Club is recognized internationally in the 2026-2027 top 50 Yacht Club Category.

Initiated in 2013, the Platinum Clubs of the World vote takes place every other year and is conducted through a worldwide vote of an international panel of industry experts, historians and connoisseurs. These industry leaders were directed to vote for clubs that meet the seven Platinum Clubs of the World Selection Criteria.

The advisory board reviews and updates the selection criteria on an annual basis to respond to changing trends in private club leadership, operations and management. Listed below are seven criteria for a club to be considered for selection as a Platinum Club of the World:

• UNIVERSAL RECOGNITION
• A RESPECTED MEMBERSHIP
• EXCELLENCE IN AMENITIES AND FACILITIES
• EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE STANDARDS
• ADAPTING TO CHANGING TIMES
• MANAGEMENT AND OPERATIONS
• OVERALL EXPERIENCE

PIYC is also currently ranked as the #7 Yacht Club in America and has consistently maintained platinum status since 2014.

General Manager at Pelican Isle Yacht Club, Ali Feezor, commented on this global award by saying, “It is an honor to have been recognized again by Platinum Clubs of the World. This reflects our commitment to excellence and pursuit of the highest possible standard. Pelican Isle Yacht Club is a special place; it is our beautiful surroundings, our friendly Membership and our professional Staff that make us the Yacht Club of choice in Southwest Florida.”

PIYC’s journey to becoming a Platinum Club of the World has been marked by milestones, including a major renovation in 2018 that elevated its facilities and amenities, the addition of three pickleball courts in 2020 and two tennis courts in 2025, and a total renovation of the 190-slip marina in 2024. As membership and programming continue to thrive, the club remains steadfast in its mission to adapt to changing times and exceed member expectations.
