Portfolio manager joins Crews Bank & Trust

Sarasota, Fla., Feb. 24, 2021 – Former Treasury Analyst for Sarasota County Chris Eckstrom, MBA, has joined Crews Bank & Trust as a portfolio manager in the Trust and Investment Management Services division. In addition to his work for the county, Eckstrom is an accomplished financial leader and investment manager.

As portfolio manager, Eckstrom will be involved in administering the investment holdings of individuals, families, foundations, and institutions in Arcadia, Sarasota, and surrounding communities.

“We are fortunate to have Chris join our team,” said Executive Vice President Lory Weisensee, who manages Trust and Investment Management Services. “His experience as a portfolio manager, income strategist, research director, and financial advisor will enable him to begin working with clients right away to determine the proper investment strategies to meet their financial goals.”

Originally from Jamestown, N.Y., Eckstrom spent 13 years in Charlotte, N.C., before moving to Florida in 2007. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, with a concentration in finance and accounting, at St. Bonaventure University in New York, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautics, with a concentration in management, at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Eckstrom began his career in North Carolina, serving as a vice president and senior fixed income portfolio manager for a major financial institution. Over the years, he demonstrated an expertise in asset management of tax-exempt and taxable securities for institutional and high net worth clients.

Eckstrom and his family reside in Lakewood Ranch near Sarasota. His wife works for TTIA, a Fortune 100 financial organization serving people in academic, government, medical, cultural and other nonprofit fields. Their youngest daughter is a sophomore at Lakewood Ranch High School and a dedicated volleyball player. Their oldest daughter is a freshman in the school of fine arts at the University of Florida.
