Skanska Strengthens Florida Building Division with Promotion of Three Senior Level Executives

Tampa, FL (August 16, 2021) – Skanska, one of the world’s leading construction and development firms, is pleased to announce the promotion of three senior level executives in its Florida building division. Chuck Jablon has been promoted to senior vice president of construction for the state of Florida, and Daniel Abou-Jaoude and Bob Kramer have been promoted to vice president – account managers.

Marking 50 years in the construction industry, Jablon will focus on growing Skanska’s revenue statewide, while continuing to manage select client relationships across key markets such as Clearwater, Tampa and St. Petersburg, as well as active projects such as the Florida Polytechnic University Applied Research Center and Imagine Clearwater Downtown Waterfront Park. Jablon will also support projects through preconstruction and provide support and oversight during the construction phase.

As vice president – account managers, Abou-Jaoude and Kramer will continue to lead all projects they previously served as vice president – project executives for. Abou-Jaoude’s new role will include ongoing support to further expand Skanska’s K-12 project pipeline in the four core regions of Greater Tampa, Orlando, South Florida, and Fort Myers. Kramer will continue to oversee Skanska’s project teams in Southwest Florida and take on the account manager role for the state’s Southeast region.

With five decades of experience in the construction industry, Jablon is a seasoned veteran and has been with Skanska for the last 17 years. He has served as part of Skanska’s Florida senior leadership team and has vast experience guiding the firm’s construction projects and pursuits across Florida. During his career with the company, Jablon has been recognized as one of ENR’s Top 25 Newsmakers and has helped shape his hometown of St. Petersburg and the Greater Tampa Bay area through his involvement in transformative projects that span across healthcare, research, higher education, major downtown parks and public spaces, and cultural centers. He has spearheaded projects such as Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Research and Education Building, Curtis Hixon/Kiley Garden’s Downtown Waterfront Park, Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park, and the City of St. Petersburg’s Municipal Pier Replacement and Pier Approach.

During his 15 years with Skanska, Abou-Jaoude has become the “go-to expert” for K-12 and higher education projects in Florida and has completed 35 education projects valued at a combined $524 million, working with clients such as Florida A&M University, Hillsborough and Pinellas County Schools, and the University of South Florida. He graduated from Notre Dame University in Lebanon with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and completed the Harvard Business School Executive Education’s High Potentials Leadership Program.

With 19 years of experience in the construction industry, Kramer has worked with healthcare clients across the Southeast on a wide range of new construction and renovation projects. He is currently overseeing construction of the Gulf Coast Medical Center expansion and an addition to Florida SouthWestern State College in Fort Myers. Kramer graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in construction engineering and management.

Currently, Skanska has more than a dozen active construction projects across Florida, including the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute, University of South Florida’s Research Park Mixed Use Lab & Office project in Tampa, Imagine Clearwater, the University of Miami’s Frost Institute of Chemistry and Molecular Science, and Lee Health Gulf Coast Medical Center in Fort Myers.
