Suncoast Credit Union Named a Top Credit Union by Forbes

TAMPA, Fla. —Forbes named Suncoast Credit Union (Suncoast) a Top-10 Credit Union in Florida, and the second highest-ranked credit union in the state, according to its annual list of America’s Best Credit Unions. This is Suncoast’s third time earning the Forbes recognition. Of the nation’s 5,068 credit unions surveyed, Suncoast ranks in the top 3.6%.

Kevin Johnson, President & CEO of Suncoast Credit Union

“This recognition is particularly special to us, because in spite of the challenges presented this year in an ongoing pandemic, our employees always put our members first.” says Kevin Johnson, President & CEO of Suncoast Credit Union. “This recognition is based on feedback from our members. Knowing they acknowledge and appreciate how we are living and breathing our mission to improve the quality of their lives is both empowering and humbling. We’re so grateful.”

Forbes surveyed around 25,000 people nationwide about their banking relationships. Credit unions were rated on overall satisfaction, as well as five areas of interest to consumers: trust, terms and conditions, branch services, digital services, and financial advice.

According to Forbes, “Members-only credit unions are the unheralded lifeblood of the U.S. economy, where tens of millions of Americans turn for the most competitive interest rates on financial products like mortgages. Their nonprofit model, where members of a bank are its owners, helps put customers first and results in higher levels of satisfaction.”

Suncoast employs more than 2,000 team members, who are dedicated to serving more than 975,000 members through 75 branches.
