Sunshine Ace celebrates 66 years in SWFL

Over 66 years, Sunshine Ace Hardware – owned and operated by the Wynn family since day one – has opened 12 hardware stores, two gift shops and one paint store in Southwest Florida.

Over the next year or so, Sunshine Ace Hardware is picking up the pace with four projected hardware store openings in Ave Maria, North Naples, Northeastern Collier and Babcock Ranch.

“Naples has been Sunshine Ace’s home since my grandfather founded the company in 1958,” said Michael Wynn, president of Sunshine Ace Hardware. “We’ve gradually expanded over the years, but are accelerating the company’s pace of growth to mirror the surge in residential and commercial construction. Our goal is to bring convenience and quality to homeowners, contractors and DIYers so they don’t have to travel more than 10 to 15 minutes to reach the nearest Sunshine Ace Hardware.”

The new hardware stores will offer a wide selection of power and hand tools, hardware, paint and painting accessories, lawn and garden supplies, plumbing fixtures, propane and supplies for DIYers.

Once the new locations are complete, Sunshine Ace Hardware will have 19 hardware, paint and gift stores under its umbrella, solidifying its current position as one of Ace Hardware’s 10 largest franchisees in America and ranking among Florida’s largest family-owned home improvement retailers.

In addition, Sunshine Ace announced in late 2023 that the company was expanding Ace Handyman Services of Southwest Florida, which offers home maintenance projects like installing wall TVs and ceiling fans, repairing lanai screens, painting, updating cabinets, drywall and general carpentry services.
