The Charlotte County Airport Authority announces inaugural flights

The Charlotte County Airport Authority announced inaugural flights of the newest route from Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) via Allegiant and Sun Country Airlines which began on Oct. 8. PGD staff welcomed Sun Country passengers arriving from MSP at 12:28 p.m. and Allegiant passengers arriving from MSP at 2:34 p.m. 

Passengers were greeted with fresh oranges and giveaways at a welcome table in baggage claim at the Bailey Terminal, and were invited to take a photo at the new photo op spot in the corridor just south of baggage claim to share on social media.   

Both Allegiant and Sun Country flights are scheduled Mondays and Fridays October through January. During February, March and April both airlines have flights from PGD to MSP on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Both airlines offer different pricing, scheduling and amenities to offer passengers a variety of flexible options to choose from.

Travelers landing at our convenient airport can enjoy an array of outdoor activities surrounding Charlotte Harbor and can explore historic waterfront Punta Gorda to the beautiful Gulf beaches within a 45-minute drive,” said James W.
