Three distinguished community leaders join STARability’s Board of Directors

STARability Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of three new members to its Board of Directors: Carrie Cooney, Marsha Griffin and Michael Rubenstein. Each will serve a three-year term, joining an experienced and passionate group of community leaders dedicated to supporting STARability’s mission of transforming the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“We are thrilled to welcome Carrie, Marsha and Michael to our Board of Directors and have their collective expertise driving our mission,” said Karen Govern, CEO of STARability Foundation. “Their comprehensive knowledge, extensive experience and diverse backgrounds will be crucial to our work of expanding innovative, community-based and inclusive services and programming for participants and their families throughout our community.”

Marsha Griffin
Cooney, a long-time advocate for individuals with special needs, brings years of nonprofit leadership, fundraising and community engagement experience. A returning board member, she played a key role in the development of STARability’s Trailblazer Academy.
A seasoned professional in community development and marketing, Griffin is also a passionate advocate for individuals with neurological differences. Since moving to Naples, she and her family have been actively engaged in STARability’s programs since 2021.
Rubenstein is a financial advisor with UBS Private Wealth Management and graduate of Associate Leadership Collier. He currently serves on several nonprofit boards in the Naples area and brings a depth of legal and financial expertise to the organization.
The new board members will join a dedicated team of directors and executive committee leaders for the 2025-2027 term, including:
