Travis Prince joins Forbes-Snyder as regional sales director
Veteran restaurant operator Travis Prince has been named Regional Sales Director at Forbes-Snyder, a leading national provider of point-of-sale systems, to spearhead its Southwest Florida expansion.
Prince brings over 30 years of restaurant management experience to the role, most recently serving as Director of Operations at Prime 239 Steakhouse in Cape Coral. His shift into tech sales was born out of frustration: one chaotic Friday evening, a POS system crash left his team scrambling — and without responsive local support.
Determined to find a better solution, Prince discovered Forbes-Snyder, based in Massachusetts, where owner Paul “PK” Backholm and his team installed an intuitive system backed by 24/7 customer service. The experience was so seamless, when Prince’s restaurant contract ended, he joined the company.
“Forbes-Snyder gets it — the quirky, unpredictable challenges that come with running a restaurant,” says Prince. “What makes us different is our responsive, boots-on-the-ground support. Nights. Weekends. Whenever you need help.”
He adds: “We give operators the best of both worlds: a local, reliable hybrid system backed by the advanced capabilities of a cloud-accessible platform.”
Prince began his hospitality journey waiting tables at Applebee’s, quickly advancing from server to bartender to trainer in just 90 days. He later became a corporate trainer with Duffy’s Sports Grill, opening new locations statewide. His career highlights include working alongside celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck at CUT Steakhouse in Manhattan — a hotspot for stars like Oprah and Mike Tyson.
During the 2020 pandemic, Prince relocated to Fredericksburg, VA, where he launched an entertainment venue with a full-service restaurant. He returned to Florida shortly after as a brand ambassador for Paradigm Hospitality, landing 70 new accounts and boosting sales for American Brewery by 35% in three years. In 2022, he joined Prime 239 as Director of Operations before transitioning to his new role at Forbes-Snyder.
