Troyer Mine Update Southeast Lee County

The parties responsible for the proposed Troyer mine that would be located between several conservation preserves in Southeast Lee County have decided to retract their application to Florida DEP for a permit that, if issued, would have cleared the way to start mining.

This application was opposed by USEPA, the Conservancy of SWFL, and other organizations. Due to public response, the application was withdrawn. As a result, when the parties re-apply, they will follow the more correct and stringent rules as pointed out by USEPA.
