Yliana Vilella earns professional public relations accreditation

Yliana Vilella recently earned her professional public relations accreditation, and received the designation of Accredited in Public Relations.

Vilella joins the more than 4,500 active public relations professionals worldwide who represent a group of skilled professionals committed to practicing with high ethical standards, including 38 currently in Southwest Florida.

As the communication specialist at Pushing the Envelope, Vilella plays a pivotal role in creating strategic communication plans to fit clients’ needs. This includes managing publicity campaigns, building a community relations network and managing crisis communications. Additionally, she holds the position of vice president of membership on the board of directors for FPRA SWFL, dedicating time to fostering relationships with current and potential members at the professional and collegiate levels. Finally, Vilella has been collaborating with her husband in managing their family business for the past five years.

Vilella holds a bachelor of arts degree in mass communications – public relations from the University of South Florida, complemented by a master of science degree in leadership in education in human services from Nova Southeastern University. With over a decade of experience, she has served as an educator, teaching communications, and has also held various positions as a public relations manager, showcasing her expertise in the field.

To earn public relations accreditation, candidates must pass an oral presentation and rigorous written examination administered by the Universal Accreditation Board, which is an alliance of eight national and statewide professional associations dedicated to furthering the field of public relations and the development of public relations professionals. FPRA is a member of the UAB.
